How to make hair grow, that’s also my first question when I found my self having alopecia. I tried to use hair tonic for a week but gave no good progress. So I decided to asked help from tricholigist. Why? Because a trichologist is a hair loss problem specialist. It was hard to find a hair doctor nearby and I was too ashamed to ask everyone where to find one.

This is what she told me when I came with my alopecia,” We’ll give you our natural extracts to be applied on your scalp. They are supposed to enhance the hair growth. We can’t guarantee the result will be positive, but I assume at your case you still can regain your hair grow”

So, I used their treatments. My treatments were saw palmetto extract and eugenol. My alopecia is now gone.

Conclusion: when you are not having bald or hair loss for a long time (still in the early phase), topical medication might work!

Another way to make hair grow is giving cortisone injection in the scalp where it’s happen. This one was my close friend story. She got treatment from a dermatologist. Her problem was the same with me, alopecia. She only got injected once and as long as I know her alopecia is also gone.

Conclusion: cortisone injection in the scalp might work to make hair grow.

How about using Laser Hair comb?

My trichologist also gave me that treatment but in combination with the topical medication. I don’t know will they work if they are not combined with topical medication.

Grow Hair Fast

Grow hair fast! As fast as you can! Ha! I know my article title is so provocative. So I need to make a disclaimer first so you don’t have to expect me to tell you secret on the magic spell. There’s no way to make hair grow fast. I’ve tried a Chinese herb contained shampoo which claim can make hair grow fast. Well, my hair was longer (in a month time) but my hair color also changed into brownish red (my natural hair color is black like other Asian), dry and dull. I stopped using that shampoo.

Remember the how hair grow process?

Hairs take time to grow. They have 3 phases: anagen (growth phase), catagen (transitional phase) and telogen (rest phase).

Here’s is the hair phase I got from follicle.com:

Anagen Phase - Growth Phase
Approximately 85% of all hairs are in the growing phase at any one time. The Anagen phase or growth phase can vary from two to six years. Hair grows approximately 10cm per year and any individual hair is unlikely to grow more than one meter long.

Catagen Phase - transitional phase
At the end of the Anagen phase the hairs enters into a Catagen phase which lasts about one or two weeks, during the Catagen phase the hair follicle shrinks to about 1/6 of the normal length. The lower part is destroyed and the dermal papilla breaks away to rest below.

Telogen Phase - resting phase
The resting phase follows the catagen phase and normally lasts about 5-6 weeks. During this time the hair does not grow but stays attached to the follicle while the dermal papilla stays in a resting phase below. Approximately 10-15 percent of all hairs are in this phase at a one time.

At the end of the Telogen phase the hair follicle re-enters the Anagen phase. The dermal papilla and the base of the follicle join together again and a new hair begins to form. If the old hair has not already been shed the new hair pushes the old one out and the growth cycle starts all over again.

That’s the facts above can be truste. Hair can only be longer at maximum 6 inches per year. If you are going to special occasion like wedding party and need your hair to be long growing fast, my suggestion is let the hair wig save you.

However there’s a way to maximize hair growth cycle. Just like the other anti aging slogans, it applied to your hair too. Do a healthy diet, have a routine exercise per week, stay away from smoking and take hair supplement and hair tonic.

That’s what I’ve did. I improve my diet -having a pear shape body sometimes is suck! :-) ; I go to the gym twice a week -well not much but at least I did sweating to make the blood circulation good; and apply hair tonic after shampooing & the hair scalp is not too wet.

Oh, I also take multi vitamin supplement, just one pill daily.

And I’m proudly to say to you that I keep my hair length at my back with monthly routine hair trimming.

Take your time to feed your hair to grow. No need to stress out because it will impact your hair growth cycle. Only hair wig or hair extensions that can make your hair look longer fast!
